Willie Grace of Style & Grace Surf Productions

Let me formally introduce myself. My name is Willie Grace.
I'm a native Hawaiian, born and raised in Hawaii. I have been surfing for over 30 years and am a former Hawaii and California State Surfing Champion. All of the surf spots in the Hawaiian Islands have been my play grounds for decades. You are in good hands with a "local Hawaiian Beach Boy" who knows these waters well. I know the breaks, channels, tides, reefs and overall critical information needed to ensure your safety. Teaching surfing is personally satisfying for me. I teach because I feel it is important to perpetuate Hawaiian Surfing by sharing this great sport with others. Not to mention, it's great to see that look on someones face the first time they ride their first wave!

NO WAI KE KULEANAWHOSE RESPONSIBILITY IS IT?NO KAUAOURS
We as Hawaiian Beach Boys and Wave Riders in Waikiki are responsible to gaze deeply into that blue wave where we get our Mana. Waves may look the same at first glance, but if you look deeper into the wave you will see the foundation on which the blue wave beauty exists. Our Kupuna have perpetuated Hawaiian Surfing in their own way while firmly grounding themselves in the foundation on which Hawaiian Surfers have evolved and grown.Growth in any form needs a firm foundation. Hawaiian Beach Boys, Canoe Paddlers and Surfer's are no different, As Hawaiian and Waikiki Beach Boys and Watermen, we have a Kuleana to make sure that the foundation of Hawaiian and Waikiki Beach Boys is solid so that our offspring have a clear understanding of where they came from and who they are. We need to teach others to "Honor" those Kupunas who have stood fast in preserving and perpetuating this foundation of Waikiki and Hawaiian beaches for all of us to enjoy.NOW it is our time and our KULEANA to make sure that this foundation of Hawaiian beaches is preserved and perpetuated for the FUTURE GENERATION of the KEIKI (children) of HAWAII"...

The Men That Work The Beach

The Men That Work The Beach...
The Film & Book by: Willie Grace

A documentary film is in the works chronicling the lives of the Hawaiian Beach Boy, the group of native Hawaiians who have made their living by teaching surfing, swimming, giving outrigger canoe rides and the like at Hawaii's most popular beaches thoughout the 20th Century. We want to tell the real stories going as far back as 1896 (and earlier) to the present day of what this lifestyle entailed, and the important mark that the Beach Boys have left on Hawaiian culture, surfing and watersports. I am very interrested in interviewing Beach Boys as well as thier Ohana (family) and friends. There are many misconceptions about the Waikiki and Hawaiian Beach Boys and I want to set the story straight. We need to document this almost bygone era for our keiki (kids) of Hawaii so they can be proud and carry on the tradition in the old Hawaiian way. I am looking for stories ( funny, happy, sad or others) We are also looking for rare archival footage, photos, newpaper clipping and other memorabilia as well. We plan to make this a project to HUI (to unite or come together and assemble) the Hawaiian Beach Boys and share the Aloha on a very large scale. We will also be doing a Beach Boys party on the beach of Waikiki at one of the hotels on the oeacn front. The world has so much to learn from our Hawaiian culture and lifestyle. The Waikiki and Hawaiian Beach Boys have been the unofficial Ambassadors of Aloha and it is now time to make it official. Your kokua (help) will be appreciated in any form. This is a film about the PAST, PRESENT and the FUTURE of the Waikiki and Hawaiian Beach Boys....We are also looking for rare archival footage, photos, newpaper clipping and other memorabilia as well. I am also looking for stories about the beach boys. If you would like to help me out in anyway you can e-mail me. At present, the documentary is in the developmental stages, as we are continuing our efforts towards comprehensive research and fundraising to make some money for the movie.

A little about the ''BOOK'' by Willie Grace
The PALAPALA was written in the hopes that you will see a better understanding of the IKAIKA, '' FORCE'' which keep us Hawaiian and Waikiki Beach Boys to stay Dedicated, Faithful and always keep that friendships with people from around the world with that ''ALOHA SPIRITS ALIVE. The ''MANA'O'' expressed in this collection of individuals bio's of the beach boys reflect who have contributed there lives to protect the ultimate sacrifice and deepest respect for the feeling of ''ALOHA'' love for the beach.

''MEKE ALOHA PA'U OLE A HUI HO''''WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN''
In Remembrance...
For me I know that these are the "MEN that Work The Beach" that share and spread the Aloha on the beach of WAIKIKI for many years: - WILLIE GRACE''I know that I missed a lot of the beach boys and friend's after all those years, that you have been gone, but at least now I know their at peace and resting out at SEA.'' You would never think how much of a difference they made with people from around the world, and how much we have come to appreciate you for the time that you have spend with us, when you were there also for all of us at one time in our life. The one thing I know about some of the Beach Boys is that, it was never about the Money or the Status, because their are only a few that will share and spread the Aloha to everyone that they meet. As for myself, Willie Grace, along with Rudy King Jr. and the Waikiki and Hawaiian Beach Boys who knows that sometimes there are better things that are as or important then making Money, like there is a thing in giving back and making sure that people who have made sacrifices for me and all of us can never be forgotten about also, and to never forget that it's part of our Culture and our Roots. So that is why we need to make sure there is a real understanding that we all came from something so beautiful and so very important to all of us and most of all to the
''MEN that WORK the BEACH''NEVER FORGET THE WORD ''ALOHA'' and NEVER FORGET WHERE IT CAME from WAIKIKI AND THE HAWAIIAN BEACH BOYS RIGHT HERE ON THE BEACH!!!TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME AND SHARE THE ''ALOHA'' (LOVE) WITH THEM BECAUSE SOMETIMES PEOPLE NEED IT MORE THEN WE CAN SEE FROM THE OUTSIDE, BECAUSE ''ALOHA IS ONLY BROWN SKI DEEP INSIDE OF US' ' THAT MONEY CAN NOT BUY AND YOU ONLY CAN FEEL IT GIVING TO YOU FROM US...Words by:Willie GraceHAWAIIAN & WAIKIKI BEACH BOYSMAHALO VERY MUCH: WILLIE GRACE
